A Midsummer Night's Bedroom

Welcome to my bedroom, which is now the equivalent of a surreal, dream-like forest. I designed and executed most of the set for our school's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and as such, I was able to take home these panels, which served as a backdrop for the forest scenes. There are four of them, which were placed at varying depths symmetrical about center stage. My idea was to create a vivid, dreamy, alluring forest that starkly contrasted with the scenes from Theseus' palace preceding/following this while simultaneously creating a visual parallel between the grand, cathedral-like windows of the palace and the light shining between the trees. It took many, many hours of painting and the help of my faithful painting crew, and as such, I will forever give this mural a place in my life - to be precise, a place right above my pillow, every morning when I awaken. It is like the dream continues, even when my eyes have opened.
